Jennifer King is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, advocate, and speaker dedicated to helping individuals find hope, healing, and freedom from addiction. With 20years of sobriety, Jennifer brings the strength of her lived experience to her work, empowering others to make meaningful changes in their lives and pursue recovery with confidence and support.
Jennifer's journey began with struggles rooted in childhood trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and substance use that started in high school. It was during her timeof incarceration that she experienced a life-changing spiritual transformation, surrendering her life to God—a decision she credits with saving her life. Her faith continues to be the foundation of her recovery and her work with others.
A 2022 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with abachelor's degree in Psychology, Jennifer is currently pursuing a Master ofLegal Studies degree at Vanderbilt Law. Her academic and professional pathsreflect her deep commitment to advocacy, justice, and building systems thatsupport long-term recovery and healing.
In 2024, Jennifer’s family was deeply impacted by the opioid crisis when her beloved nephew, Shane lost his life to a fentanyl overdose. Today, Jennifer shares both her story and Shane’s to raise awareness, fight stigma, and remind others of this powerful truth: You are not alone, and you are loved.
Through her work with the non-profit community, Jennifer continues to be a voice of encouragement and strength for those walking through their own journeys of recovery and restoration.
The Zack Meservey Foundation scholarship program is open to residents of Hamilton County, TN and neighboring who are striving to leave behind the bondage of substance abuse and addiction... to walk in the fullness of the life they were created to live.
